case study 1: fully captured the e-commerce boom with 368% growth in 2.5 years

the background:

this nail brand came to us midst of the pandemic in search of an expert paid ads agency to handle their explosive growth. their CMO has worked with us at his previous company and he brought us on board to scale their paid ads as the CMO being in the ad account is costing the business growth opportunities.

their biggest goal is to maximize the revenue and capture as much market share as possible as they have an amazing returning customer rate and LTV.  

​

our solutions:

after conducting our research, the CMO is already doing all the right things in the ad account but they weren't maximizing their ads potential and had trouble with forecasting their inventory.

 

we worked with their CMO to provide strategic creative planning and ad testing schedule to maximize their profit while scaling their ads. 50+ ads were tested monthly with our proven winning ads framework on both Meta & Google in the height of scaling in 2020 and 2021. the highlight was a series of multiple consecutive 6 figures days and $20k+ in daily ad spend.

 

we also looked at their past performance and created a seasonal trend forecast for their performance and inventory. we identified spring and summer will be their biggest months in contrary to many other e-commerce brands, and scaled accordingly. even with our forecast, they were still running out of stock because of the unprecedented growth.

the results:

we captured the majority of the e-commerce boom in 2020 and 2021 for them and these are still the biggest years in their business to date.

​

2022 and 2023 are slower years compared to the explosive 2020 and 2021 but their revenue is still up 100% over the pre-pandemic period. the brand is on track for a 24% YoY growth in 2024 which is 3x the industry average as we continue to service them. 

case study 2: $4M revenue lift in Q4 with merticulous media planning

the background:

this paid-ads-driven apparel brand came to us in early 2023 as they experienced stagnant growth with their current agency at the time, and needed a more experienced agency to help them get to their next growth goals.

​

our solutions:

we took a deep dive into their product offerings, ad accounts, and ad creatives. we noticed that the ad accounts were in "maintaining" mode with no effort in testing new ads or scaling the ad accounts. we also identified 8 collections with proven organic sales that were not utilized and amplified with paid ads.

 

we knew that Q4 would be the biggest quarter for them so we spent Q1 and Q2 consistently testing new ads for the existing winning products, the 8 under-utilized collections mentioned above, and the offers to prepare for the big moments in Q4. 

 

20+ ads were tested monthly with our proven winning ads framework on both Meta & Google. by the end of Q2 2023, we had 80+ proven ads that could handle high daily ad spending with consistent performance. 

 

we also tested multiple different offers such as BOGO50, bundling, discount code, and product markdown, and analyzed the impact of each offer with AOV, conversion rate, gross revenue, and net profit. we concluded that product markdown is the winning offer with the most net profit generated.

by the end of Q2 2023, we forecasted we would be able to 2x their Q4 2022 sales and recommended the brand order 2x the normal volume of their best-selling collections in preparation for Q4 2023.

​

the results:

we generated $7M in total sales in Q4 2023, a $4M in additional revenue compared to Q4 2022 (121% YoY growth), adding $1.5M in additional net profit for the business in Q4 2023 alone.

​

by leveraging the flexibility of the product markdown, we were able to have a bold offer of up to 80% off with slow-moving and a lower discount for the best-selling products and were able to maintain the same NC-ROAS in Q4 while increasing ad spend by 156%.

​

we exceeded our Q4 2023 forecast by 20% and the brand is on pace to do $25M in total sales in 2024 as we continue to scale their ad accounts.

case study 3: 155% YoY for a new watch brand

the background:

this new watch brand with a mission to provide affordable high-quality men's watches was referred to us by an existing client. they have only been in business for 1 year and needed a paid ads agency to grow their paid ads channels profitably while they focus on growing the business with different channels.

​

their most important KPI is to grow their customer list consistently and sustainably being a bootstrapped business.

our solution:

we took a deep dive into their product offerings, unit economics, ad accounts, and ad creatives. they have a 65% gross profit margin on most of their products and a 23% OpEX (including our agency fee), they needed a 2.38 NC-ROAS to break even on their first sale, and this is the ultimate KPI that we use to scale their ad accounts.

​

on Google ads, we started by optimizing their Google Merchant Center account, adding high-performing keywords to their product titles and descriptions to maximize our chance of success on Google Shopping. we also A/B test different product images to help the product listings stand out from competitors. 

​

on Meta ads, we identified their most profitable placements and audiences with their existing data and quickly implemented our proven winning ads framework to scale their ad account. 

​

the results:

the brand ended 2023 with $770k in total sales (155% YoY growth) as we consistently and they are looking to do $1.5M in total sales in 2024, another triple digits YoY growth while we profitably and consistently scale their ad accounts.

 

we continued to improve NC-ROAS and exceeded our targeted 2.38 NC-ROAS as we became more efficient with our ads and leveraging the data.
